Nice Canon SD850IS Review
Nice review of the PowerShot SD850IS! A bit late for me, but useful nonetheless.
I picked up the Japanese version of this camera (IXY 810IS) and like it very, very much. It's simple enough for my wife as well, and easy to use in the UW housing (though I'm not so happy with my UW photos).
I've been too lazy to read through the english version of the PDF manual completely, but your review pointed out features I didn't even know about - like time-lapse and post hoc red eye removal.
I also didn't know about the accessory flash - though I'm unsure I would need it. I notice when I go on Macro Mode, the flash is often partially blocked by the lens barrel. Howver, maybe I should not be taking macro photos with a flash.
The other only real problem I have with this camera is the super fast (class 6) SD card I bought for it won't mount on my Mac - can't even format it. So, I have to use the camera to transfer photos. Not so great when the battery is low.
In any case, thanks again for your hard work. I'll refer to your review often so I can understand my camera better.
