You know ... when something is that questionable ... I honestly don't why you would risk your $1500 PC by "plugging in" something that dubious! Why push something you already know is risky. You can't even find adequate documentation.
Where do you think the warning signs actually are in this situation?

There is a point of diminishing returns ... and it would be good for you to suspect you have stumbled upon one of its prime candidates. I suggest you return that POS and spend just a few more bucks and buy a
brand name "ANYTHING" and be a lot happier and ... a lot less at risk.
I swear, people could probably sell "used" gum, if they could get the colorful wrapper back on it.
