Default spot on some images

Has anyone ever noticed a spot on images shot with a D70s? Recently I have noticed a spot dead center on the image. This is not in all photos but once in a blue moon it appears. I have removed the lens and with a tiny flash light looked at the mirror and have seen nothing to produce this spot. Any help in figuring out this would be great. The camera is about 8 months old and is taken great care of. The spot appears in photos that have sky

Well first off the mirror moves out of the way when you take a picture, so even if you had something on the mirror, you wouldn't see it in the image.

What you ARE seeing is dust. You can post a picture so we can verify 100% but anytime you shoot a shot with a high f/stop the dust will appear (it will be clearer the more DOF you have). What you need to do is get the Copperhill System. It is the best way to clean your sensor.

To answer some qestions that I am sure you will ask:
1) Cleaning the sensor is really easy - it just takes a little practice
2) You are not ACTUALLY cleaning the sensor, you are cleaning a piece of glass over the sensor therefore:
-----a) You can put a little pressure and won't cause damage
-----b) You won't hurt the sensor as long as it is done correctly
3) I have done this probably 40 times with my and other cameras (Canon 20d & 30D) and have never had a problem
4) It usually takes about 2 to 3 times to get the sensor completely clean

Good Luck
Ken

Default RE: spots

Thanks for the information. I took my D70s to my local camera shop and as you mentioned it was indeed dust on the sensor.
