Do not know how to work camera

Ok I have a Optimus Digital 5:0 Camera I purchased a few weeks ago.The other night I tried to set up the Pc camera and had no luck.I followed the instructions and everything.first I installed software,I clicked on install pc/driver then the computer restarted.I then hooked the camera up to the computer.I went to webcamera then I pressed record,nothing happened. The screen just went black.Im not sure if I was suppose to install Ulead Video Studio 8.0 Se vcd.I also install the acrobat reader 5.0.also I do not know how you take pictures with the camera,I tried to do that and was clueless.the instructions dont help that much. I need to know what am I doing wrong because If the camera does not work this week Im taking it back.can somebody please help me.it would really be appreciated.thanks.

Can you ask the store where you bought it? Or call Optimus support?
