Generally the consensus seems to be to buy from a brick-and-mortar shop rather than one of the dodgy online shops:
- It's easier to check the item before handing over one's hard-earned cash in a real shop.
- One can be pretty sure the shop will be there next week - in case of problems.
- It's less likely to be grey goods (or even hot goods).
- You have somewhere to return the goods to that you know exists.
- If worst comes to worst, you can pick out the salesman in a police line-up.
