Unhappy Nikon Coolpix 4300: buttons non-functional

Hi,

It's been a while since this happened.. but I had a friend who was talking about cameras and it got me thinking about this again.

A while back.. around 1 year after I bought my Nikon, it's zoom, left, right, and down buttons, stopped working.... when I contacted technical support I was told it would cost around $160 to get it fixed.... because it's one year warranty had apparenlty expired. Anyway I was kinda miffed by this since it had only just recently gone out of warranty that I decided rather than pay Nikon to get it fixed I'd just shelf it and forget it.

I was just wondering if there was some kind of reset function on this camera? .... though I'm probably just going to end up getting rid of it shortly.
