Errgh...too many options...I should say that I don't want to get into auxiliary flashes, lenses, etc. I do own an older Nikon SLR with external flash I could use if I really need those items, but I only load it up about once a year anymore. Digital is so much easier!
Maybe I overstated the flash, I do want a good flash for indoor shots, but maybe I'm overcompensating for the miserable one on my Xt. I went to my local Circuit City with an SD card to take sample photos for comparison. I wasn't able to test the FZ7 because the security cord prevents you from opening the memory/battery door. I was able to test the S2 and a Pana LZ5. The Canon's flash performance was obviously better (but I assume the FZ7 would outperform the LZ5 also, based on the size of the flash). To my eye the Canon's photo appeared sharper also, but again I was not able to directly compare to the FZ7.
I don't know if I would be using the long end of the zoom indoors all that much...I guess it is possible at school plays, indoor sports etc. When you say the FZ5 sucked indoors do you mean in flash and exposure or also in focusing?
Thanks for the response.
