Default A620 vs A700

I know people have mentioned the a620 and the a700 but i have been looking at getting the a620 until i heard that the a700 is coming in the next few weeks. i know that the 700 is 6x vs the 620's 4x and apparently the 700 is going to be cheaper at list price. should i wait for the 700 or go ahead and get the 620?

Default A700 Vs. A620

I have the same exact issue. The A700 does not have the swivel screen. And I wanted that. However, I think I will wait till the A700 comes out so that I can examine both cameras. I myself do not know which one is better.

Moreover, is the A700 even really a replacement for the A620?

What camera is better?

I'm going to guess that the grip of the A620 will feel better in my hand than the A700. The larger grip in the A620 is caused by having the two extra batteries.

6X zoom is nice, but I already get more blurry indoor pictures with 4x zoom if I use my hands to hold the camera when taking pictures.

If the iso 400 has been improved and the iso 800 is usable the A700 might be an option to consider, btw.. have they upgraded the sensor in the A700? other than that i donīt see a reason to go for the A700 and i hope itīs not a replacement for the A6#0 since the new A700 seems to be more like a downgrade but we should wait until the reviews and samples

What are iso 400 and 800 good for? Low light shooting? I don't think the A700 is a replacement for the A610/A620 because it doesn't have the swivel LCD for one thing.

well it really seems like A700 isnt a replacement for A620 overall.....as the A700 over here is sold cheaper then the A620.... about some €50 difference......

was looking for A620, A700 or S2 IS.....seems like A700 isnt well liked

Default Time Between Shots using Flash

I wonder how long the time between shots using flash in A700 since it only uses 2 AA batteries just like A520 and A510

I was looking to buy A620 for my sister then along came A700. I wonder why Canon releases 2 almost similar cameras.
A700 may have some dandy features over A620 but the only thing appealing (or maybe useful) to me is ISO up to 800; but shots at such higher ISO is still unproven. As Screenclutter mentioned, 6x optical zoom will be blurry without IS. And A700 doesn't have swivel LCD....
So my sister got her A620 last week.

i asked the person at canon why was the A700 cheaper then the A620 and why the battery usage difference when A700 is suppose (technically speaking 620<700) to be better... his reason was that A700 manufacturing and mechanism is better and more advanced, hence requires to use less batteries and production cost is also cheaper then A620.

I don't think ISO800 is a good reason to buy a digital compact, even ISO400 is too noisy and non-usable. 6x zoom? What good it's not coming with an image stabiliser?! 2,5" screen but the same number of pixels as in A620, also no swivel LCD (also lots of scratches on the LCD). 2 batteries instead of 4 so let's say it's a lighter camera but still too big to be a pocket camera.
