The DReb's ETTL is notoriously bad (the one complaint I have). I recently shot a wedding, and the exposure was rarely correct - sometimes under, sometimes over exposed (PS saved the day). The 20D's E-TTL2 system is supposed to have corrected the issues... Oh yeah, I use a Sigma 500 DG Super with a Canon off shoe 2 cord on a Stroboframe flash bracket.

Default RE:Digi Rebel w/420 ex

I have the 420 ex and so far have been very pleased with the results from it and the Dreb. I recently took some pics at the Grand Ole Opry, off to the side a little and from the second row back (about 30 feet) and the pics look great.

500 DG is one of the best flash values out there. All the power and functionality of the 550EX for $200. I used it today for an outdoor wedding with much better results!

Default Sigma EF-500 DG Super Flash

I use the Sigma EF 500 DG Super Flash with my Canon Digital Rebel. The flash is great, and at half the price it can't be beat. I have a friend who uses the Canon 500, and she says that my Sigma does a much better job. Go with the Sigma. Try e-bay.
