Need help with FZ5 Adapter

Hi,
I recently just bought the FZ5 but the threads on the lens hood adapter that came with the camera seem to have broken and won't hold any filters. Is there another lens adapter compatible with the FZ5 capable of holding filters and other lenses? Metal would be preferable but any durable one would be great. I'm looking for specific names and places or links I might be able to find them. Might as well add: does anyone know of a good lens hood to use instead of the one that came with the camera? (It'll be the next one to break)

I believe there is another adapter but you need to speak chinese to order it .
Made by Mr. Chen you can find a link to his site from CKs fz10 page.
But what is the problem with the FZ5 adapter is there is about 2 mm of unthreaded material on the adapter befor the threads, If you carefully file down the adapter to eliminate almost all the untreaded material the filter will fit,also some filters have more threads than others and will also fit.

Thanks Genece, I'll have to try sanding down the threads on the adapter. Does anyone else know of some other adapters compatible with the FZ5? Or does anyone know chinese?

Also does anyone know of a decent lens hood that could be screwed into the adapter that would allow 55 mm filters to still be screwed into the adapter?

Note: Sorry for being such an inexperienced novice but would anyone know the size of the FZ5's lens, is it 55 mm? (As in if I bought a 55 mm adapter would it screw into the lens?)

Now wait ...you have to get an adapter from the site I listed or use the Panasonic adapter do not go trying to add things to the panasonic adapter as it is too far from the camera already.

I, too, just bought an FZ5 and was having trouble with the threads. I was sold a Quantaray filter which just "fell off" when I tried to put it on. I ended up trying a Cokin filter which works great, no problem at all. I know that a 55 mm filter should fit a 55 mm lens adapter (a filter is a filter is a filter, right?) I don't know what is different but, hey, it works for me. The salespeople at Wolf Camera thought I was nuts in asking to try a different BRAND of filter, but they were as shocked as I was that it worked.

By shaving off half a millimeter you'll correct that problem. I used sandpaper #100 and sanded 1mm just to be sure. It's worked great and I never had that problem again.

And don't worry, it won't affect the hood's locking threads.

I think the difference between the two filters is that the Quantaray doesn't have much thread to screw in, so it doesn't get a firm connection, while the Cokin filter probably has plenty of thread to screw in so it does get a secure connection. I too bought the Quantaray filters from Wolf/Ritz/Kits and had the problem of them just falling off. Once I sanded the adapter down however it works like a charm with a firm connection.
