Hi All,
Just bought my first ever digital camera an FZ20 (29/12/05), as a total beginner ( complete baby still sucking my thumb) to digital photography I would appreciate any advice you could give me as to must/should have accessories ie, Filters, adapters etc also any tips about getting started.
I hope to use my camera for all round use ie; Outside nature, scenery travel and wild life, Indoor family and wildlife (my wife on a bad day) plus some macro photos- basically everything,

After about a week- once I have totally mastered every aspect of digital photogaphy- I would appreciate further advice on how to take those award winning front page shots so I can take early retirement and travel the world as a much sought after highly paid photographer of the rich and famous ( again more wild and some Wierd life)

Looking forward to venturing out into this whole new world of digital photography,

Im a amateur too, but i can tell you one thing. It'll take longer then one week for you to master the art of digital photography.

Making good pictures isnt all about setting on a camera. You have to have a good eye for it.

There are no must haves the camera will work just fine the way it came.
But since you mention indoors I would think an external flash such as the sunpak 383 might be something to look at.
And since you mention wildlife and macro I would suggest you will want to add lenses so an adapter is a must in that case. I would suggest Lovelifes adapter as it has the ability to handle different size lenses

A couple choices in the lens
A macro lens the Nikon 6T
And a Tele lens a Tcon 14B




After you decide on what adapter and size add on lens you will want get a UV lens for protection of the camera lens
If you were to choose the 2 Lens I mentioned, then a 62mm UV filter would be appropriate. You can get one from the same site as the adapter.

Thanks for the reply and advice,

I live in Northern Ireland and did a search on ebay Uk, I found a guy selling a Raynox 64-52mm adaptor tube and a selection of Hoya filters UV, Polarizing, gradual grey and Neutral density plus cap all of which he was using on an FZ20 and all at a very good price,

My question, Is it adviseable to step down from 64 - 52mm ?

I have one of those adapters and it works fine.. you may get some vignetting with a polarizer but usually not.

Sorry if this seems obvious, but consider spare battery, larger SD card (80X SLC Transcend 1Gb £49.35 at Offtek http://www.offtek.co.uk/item_detail....03b2e62a922867 ), tripod/mini pod/THE Pod (the beanbag thingy).
