Default Fz30 + Tcon-14b

I already have TCON-14B and will soon get FZ30. I have read CK teleconverter review but would love to hear more opinions on FZ30 with TCON-14B.

How does the image produced by FZ30 + TCON-14B compared to FZ20 + TCON-14B? Is it worst, similar, the same, or better?

Does FZ30 + TCON-14B produce sharp image?

Is the purple fringing noticeable at normal size print not 100% crop?

How does TCON-14B compared to TCON-17? Is there a noticeable difference in image quality at normal size print not 100% crop?

Thanks.

It is not as sharp and that seems to be fixable in PS.

Not as sharp as the TCon17 IMHO

I do not notice any fringing

Once again very similar

Thanks.
The result is very similar and the Tcon17 has more power...Do not throw your 14B away it just does not hold the edge it did with the FZ20.

Here is one 14B photo

And here is a link to more, I believe they are untouched ...It was a while ago but the Idea if I remember was to show the untouched photo.
Photos 19 t0 27 and they can be viewed at any size up to original

The Tcon 14B is a teleconverter that is 1.45 power it brings things 1.45 times closer than without it.

And the Tcon 17 is a 1.7 power teleconverter.

Default More Teleconverter Trivia

Putting it another way: If you put a Teleconverter on your FZ20/30 , the camera can may be further away from the subject and still get a very nice picture. The 12X maximum zoom is multiplied by the 'tele's magnification, for the Tcon 14B: 12X times 1.4X or 16.8X and for the TCON 17: 12X times 1.7 or 20.4X .

Thus: in the case of the TCON 17, a picture taken at say a 100 feet without the TCON 17 may now be taken at 170 feet with the TCON 17 and still get the same sized image recorded on the card.
