Angry fz5--yellowy image

I have a fz3 which I LOVE and have just purchased a fz5 to beef up the resolution. I can't believe how yellowy indoor photos look when white balance is set at Auto. When I custom-set the white balance, the yellowy tone can be corrected but I hate to have to set white balance all the time. Auto white balance on my fz3 functions much better. I keep wondering how come the fz5 can be worse than the fz3. Is my fz5 defective? Does anyone have this problem?

PS By the way, my fz3 has a silent zoom but the fz5 zoom is noisy. It's quite annoying because I take pictures in theater a lot.

I seem to have a problem with the yellowy image indoors too. I have also seen filters for that particular problem that shouldn't (at least I think so) force you to manually adjust the white balance. It's worth a try, hope it works for you

I am not sure this is a solution but with the FZ10 and 20 I had the same problem and experimenting with the metering mode seems to help as does when I notice the yellow tint I stop and meter again, most times that will make a huge difference.
