Default WA Lens Question

I would like to get my husband a wide angle lens for his FZ20 for Christmas, but I have a couple of questions to make sure I get what he really needs--

1) I understand that the Raynox 6600 is the one to get, but I have seen a couple of different models--which one do I want?

2) What size stepring should I need?

We currently have the protector lens on, I think we're at 62mm (he asked for a 62mm polarizer lens).

I just want to make sure I'm getting the right thing so we don't have to do a bunch of exchanging after the holidays...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First you can not put any WA lens on the Panasonic adapter...You need an aftermarket adapter.
And the DCR6600 is a very good WA lens but on the FZ20 there is a bit of vignetting in each corner, which can be cloned out but if he does not like to PP maybe you should look at a different lens.
While not as wide or as good the DCR720 or 730 should work as the WCon 07 or 08. Also the Raynor HD7000 is a pretty good lens. But do not forget you need an aftermarket adapter with any of them.

To maybe simplify thing if you were to send Lovelife a PM or an Email he could fix you up with an adapter and lens and his prices are very competitive.
Here is a link to some stuff he sells and you can contact him there also.
Click on the CRING adapter and see if you can follow from there but its more than a little confusing which is why I suggest contacting him.

Lovelife is not hardly my guy ...we disagree more than we agree but he has some good stuff.

I am sure he will fix you up.

You can also get adapters from pemaraal (http://www.b-300.com/fz10ac.html) then check out the different lens (tests/ reviews) at http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam/. I just bought a pemaraal adapter and waiting for it in the mail.

Edit: Never mind- those adapters won't work with a DCR6600, but Raynox also makes an adapter that will fit the FZ20 (RT5264P), about $20 (I have one also).

I'm not necessarily set on the 6600, I'm certainly open to suggestions. I'm honestly just trying to find the right solution, preferrably not exorbitantly expensive like the panasonic model.

I did not notice in the first post you say you have an adapter and its 62mm...if that is the case the simplest way for you to go with a good lens is the Wcon08. No stepring or anything else.
