Default Canon G6 vs Canon S2 IS vs Panasonic FZ5 vs

Which camera has best photo quality, especially close-ups of children outdoors? I do also like the idea of a good optical zoom, but mostly like good quality close-ups of children, that look professional even if they are not. Thanks for a reply.

Default Of the three you listed ...

the G6 certainly has the best picture quality. In general, the megazooms don't do quite so well.

What kind of financial constraints do you have?

The G6 has the best image quality, but its performance may not lend itself well to shooting children. You'll want a fast camera for that.

The G6 is fast in "computer" performance, it has little shutter lag, and its lens is fast (light sensitive) too.... what makes it "not fast enough" for kids photo's?

The G6 and S2 IS would both do well, shutter lag is very low and the zoom with IS of the S2 helps with candid shots from a distance. The F5 is somewhat noisy and its colours are not so accurate.

The G6 has the best image quality. Both the G6 and S2 have a very nice movable display giving flexibility in shooting photo's.

Default Thanks so much you guys!

I think I am leaning toward the G6 for the quality.
