Question star trails with the 300d

hey guys. ive been looking at getting a 300d. my previous camera (olympus c750) couldnt really capture any good lightening shots or star trails etc because the shutter could only be open for a maximum of 16 sec.

my question is, how long can it be open with the 300d?
ive looked through the manual (online) and it hasnt mentioned its ranges.

thanks heaps!

Up to 2.5 hours in "bulb". But I used my D70 in continuous shooting mode to capture lightning like this (ISO 1600, 1/10th sec, f4.8) This took 30 frames and about 15 seconds:

For reference, bulb exposures are covered page 79 of the 300D manual.

And the shutter specs of the 300D are:
1/4000 - 30sec (1/3 stop increments), bulb, X-sync at 1/200 sec.
