came across this on the net:

with KENKO 1.4X TC you set auto DX off (setting menu)

then you can have 12MP on a DX Lens not 5MP

who knows if thats true or not...!!

Biggest negative of the D700 so far? Shit neck strap. Unbelievably bad for what is a heavy camera to start with. Strap a full frame zoom lens on there and you have problems. In the Market for a better strap!

Recommendations welcome!

I just picked up a new strap last week that I'm really happy with- the Black Rapid RS-7. I'm going to be buying their double strap now since I'm walking around taking pictures in NYC with 2 cameras on a weekly basis thru the end of the year.

Black Rapid straps seem to cause almost as much heated debate on photography forums as that bloke to whom people sometimes refer who only shoots jpeg film on his Leica cameras.

Shall we start the arguing?

i think the rapid straps are an acquired taste. people eitehr love em or hate em. i cant stand iot personally but some of the other guys around me swear by em.

i use optech straps and love em to bits. they're a little more load bearing that the crumpler one.
