Question Clock (Backup Battery) G500

The manual for my Minolta G500 says I should replace the "backup battery" every 3 years or so. It refers you to a page in the manual which says there is such a battery which keeps the date and time when the operating battery is removed or changed, but nowhere do they tell you where the battery is located or how to change it. I cannot locate any small battery anywhere on the camera, so assume it's probably somewhere inside the camera.

Does anyone know a safe way of finding, identifying, and changing this battery without wrecking the camera?

I'm losing the time and date everytime I change the operating battery, so I figure I need a new "backup" battery.

Appreciate an answer by e-mail as well as on the forum.
