    Another favourite of mine is Purple Smoke Bush ~ It's a Cotinus
    - but not sure which ...
    (we also have a Cotinus Grace with bigger lighter sl greener leaves - but quite similar)

    Turo - I like the viewpoint of that shot - nice strong green colour too.

    It was raining this morning - so I popped out and took a couple of shots of my Purple Smoke again...here's one, I like to get it as close as poss straight off the camera ~ this one is resized, tiny bit of USM to compensate for lower res. (amount 40, radius 1, threshold 1) framed.
    I decided on a manual focus as Auto wanted the front edge as the focal point which threw too much of the back
    out of focus - personal choice

    Beautifully done! The exposure, focus, composition, everything is spot on. I love it!
