Don't think I posted this before - apologies if I did
A wide view in Iceland - mountains of coldness in the background
grey and wet day - couldn't resist though...
mumbles
I like that Stinson Beach shot - the far horizon is a lovely shade of blue, and
the road is meandering through the country towards the sea - looks great.
Do you ever find yourself seeing things through the eyes of a digital photographer??
- I looked and thought - the roadworks men have cloned out the double yellow line in the foreground!!!
I was recently on a "Route 66" driving trip across California and a bit of Arizona.
This is my car on Hwy 66 in the middle of the California Mojave desert. I got out to look for signs of the old "town" of Bagdad. Nothing is left on the road of Bagdad or a few other places that dried up after the newer freeway took the traffic from them. I'm next to railroad tracks that the road follows.
I think the train spur "marks the spot" of Bagdad. Some years back, an author of a book about Route 66 found a broken tree with a small sign saying Bagdad, but I could not find it.
In Arizona on Hwy 66 (here called Oatman Rd), still several miles from the old gold mining town (now tourist attraction) of Oatman.
