Maybe we are all so disappointed that the forums are going to become read only in the near future that we kind of gave up.

By the way, beautiful shot. May I ask where is Four Mile Beach? Is it a lake, the ocean - which ocean?

Nice beech shot K1W1. Not many posts at all nowadays so even less comments when images are posted K1W1.

Here's a shot I grabbed of the supermoon a few days ago. Bit soft as I compressed it rather a lot and also forgot to reduce my iso setting from some other shots I was doing the day before

Port Douglas, north east Australia. Roughly the same latitude as Fiji.
It's inside the Great Barrier Reef but I guess technically it's the Coral Sea.

BTW the photo is actually a three shot hNd held HDR so all the HDR haters come now come out of the woodwork and express their distain.

There are realistic HDR photos like yours which I would call HDR - High dynamic range - and then there are the others which are tone mapped to the extreme - I do not class them as HDR.

Anyway just my opinion on the subject.

Ah, yeah - after looking at it again I can see hints of it being an HDR. Recently I have taken to using Photoshop to actually reduce the saturation in some HDR images which I post on my website. That way they look less fake. Your HDR does not look fake at all - the blues are a bit saturated, but that could be explained away as just being a great day for weather, or whatever.

Very nice shots all K1W1... as always.

Don't post here much as I find myself on the Nikon board just out of habit.

A very nice shot... I like it a lot, despite your claimed shortcomings.

Oddly enough I have not seen any other "supermoon" shots.. We have an excuse here as the fog rolls in around 7-ish.

Thanks George and good luck in your efforts to keep the site alive.

K1W1 I hope that is fog and not smoke! Nice effective shot though.

It's probably not a good idea to mention the war.
That is my neighbours house. The previous house on that site plus the house next it it where the other light is coming from plus another 10 houses further down the street were all burnt to the ground in the space of 20 minutes or so in the last bush fires we had in the area in 1997.

Same night different view. Film Noir style.
