    Raven,

Love the cool color tone in that first shot.

Yup, the ol' Olympus sunny color tone strikes again
Guess I already put the windmill in the Oly photo thread... I was to some extent trying to emulate a picture of a friend's with a reflection of sailing boats with the real masts cut off, but the reflected masts shown. Guess mine wasn't as successful...

Guess what time of year it is again...

Couldn't pass up the reflected Fall leaves late in the day. It did mean I had to hustle to get to the main waterfall half a mile upstream.

There is a buildings thread, but I think it works here too. Nice shot!

The leaves sure do give the water a nice color

One from my fall color trip to the Sierras (though this one doesn't feature fall color)

Looks like a landscape to me. I wouldn't mind visiting, either.

Kgosden, I think I liked the version showing up stream better, even though it was blown out a little.

Nice shot of Mono Lake. I was there once, but not until well after sunrise and not even close to sunset. In any case the sky was absolutely clear in all directions the entire time.

    Raven,

Great shot. I prefer the first one by a large margin. The light falling in the hills is great. The way the road leads right into the glow on the tree helps with the flow in the image. I think I would crop out about half the foreground to tighten it up.

I must agree with kgosden - the first one is my preferred one too - also by a large margin. That lighting on the hills is what sells the photo. I think I would have tried for more of that tree on the left and more sky and less of the road. When I saved the image and then opened it in Photoshop, cropped some of the road off - it was then that I wanted to see more of the tree and more clouds. If you were using a zoom lens maybe a bit of zoom into those hills would have been nice too. Anyway - we all have our own ideas. It's a great photo.
