Thanks Raven. I used a lot of fill light to on them. Maybe I overdid it. It was a tough lighting situation.

    I'll second that Lukas

Did you use any particular software trickery there, or is that pretty much 'as shot'?

    Impressive either way

I agree, it's in the better 20% of shots you've posted. I like the ghosty leading lines that swirl around the rocks. The only thing preventing it from best ever is the dark brown background. (at least in my opinion)

This is an amazing picture. The stability of the camera and the focus can produce amazing results.

I have a Nikon Coolpix. Can I get results like this picture using my camera?

Thanks. Nothing special in post. I used a GND filter and a long SS and basic pp adjustments in LR.

Thanks Raven. I think the filter is probably sitting over part of that hill, though to be honest it doesn't bother me too much.

Lukas, it is indeed a great shot. The rocks in the foreground have a jewel-like quality. Personally I think the darkness in the hills is an important contributor to the mood and composition. The often striking levels of contrast in your pictures give them a chiaroscuro quality.
