That's a beautiful shot. I know you're all about 16mm, but do you happen to have a telephoto version of the same?
Thanks Raven. I don't have one closer unfortunately. I took this one at 20mm and I had to crop quite a bit off to get to this. I think I was hoping for some detail from the sky to reflect off the beach, but it wasn't happening. I should have taken it at the other end of the lens.

After 11 months and 3 weeks, my post processing skills finally caught up to the challenge of the dynamic range in this shot. Taken early last October with my E-410 and 14-54mm lens at 14mm, underexposed 2.5 stops to protect the sky, then brought back up. Even at ISO100 the noise of raising nearly black required noise filtering and created a color shift. I ordered a split ND filter the next day.
The rocks on that beach were dropped from a glacier 2.7 million years ago. I guess the surf has eroded them a bit in the meantime.

Yeah, still not quite there. I've made more changes even since posting. I guess many people don't like it as much (I expect because it has no smoothness to it, and doesn't follow typical landscape composition), but it remains one of my personal favorites because it looks wild and free.

Is it RAW or JPEG? Are you bumping up the entire exposure or just using lighten shadows. I think you might have more luck if you edited the sky and land separately then blended them together.
