    Thanks Geoff!

I'm very happy with the D50 although I've looked at the Nikons for years and I like the saturation and image quality. I'm graduating from a Pentax Espio 115 P&S and I've academically been teaching myself about SLRs for some time. As a new user I find the D50 extremely easy to use and boy is it lightweight! All in all I'm a happy new SLR user

Sorry for the double post guys. Jeff, how did you get those fantastic borders on your photos? I'd love to be able to do something similar for mine when I post them on my website. I hope I'm not prying too much

Thanks wall. After looking at it I agree. Having the path take up more of the bottom part of the photo would have given it a nice continuity into the distance. Thanks for the feedback

My addition for today. I couldn't escape the overexposure in the background as I don't have an ND filter. I guess that's next on my shopping list

    Comments welcome

EDIT: Just realised I posted after my double post from yesterday

First i dupplicate the originale photo.
In the first one i increase its size to 120% and apply a gaussian filter with the maximum parameter value. Generally i apply a second gaussian filter while i was at it. After i paste the original in this one and add a shadow effect by playing with the layer parameters.
    That's all

Just beginning to get into a few more landscape shots. Now I'm developing an overwhelming desire for a good wide angle lens!

Here's a waterfall from the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee.

And one more fromt the Smokies.
