TheWengler, I also think the grass is out of balance. The seascape is very good, but the one of the rocks doesn't keep my interest.

Eddie, I like the one of the kayaks, it seems to have the best exposure, perspective, and composition of the group.

That's a quality shot there raven. Very nice. I'd try to keep the frame the same width all the way around though.

And now for a few black and whites. Quite a few actually, sorry, I couldn't decide which of these I liked better. If you can, please let me know!

All taken within 16 hours last weekend within a ten mile radius. All in Lamoille Canyon in the Ruby Mountains, Nevada, or near the mouth of the canyon. Oly E-410 and 14-54mm lens, RAW.

Work performed in photoshop (because I don't yet have an ND filter) and Irfanview. I added borders to give back some of the atmosphere taken away by resizing for the interweb. I have been practicing black and white for a photography class, it is fun, I should have tried sooner!

If you have any tips in particular or general please let me know, I want to improve my landscapes, and I will also be turning some or all of these in. Notice that many are of the same thing, with different foregrounds and zooms.

Ok, I'll investigate the frame more in the future! I started with it equal, but thought the aspect ratio was weird and made it off balance on purpose.

As I said on flickr, I love #3. Although I want to see it larger. #4 has potential but I think I'd like it more if there was more water and if the footprints didn't go off the right edge. Maybe shifting position to the left?

Thanks a lot Tori. I think those are my footprints. I wandered up the beach to see if there was a better spot. I ended up choosing this spot because there was a little slope and it wasn't getting covered by the waves.

    Love 3 Lukas.

Re 4 perfectly executed (& much better than my attempts) but I wish the scene blessed you with a stronger background element like a solo tree in silloutte. Then I recon you could have sold it.
