Yes, Christmas. What a beautiful place. The Powershot S60 takes pretty good shots for a P&S.

Here is another from March this year. A walk up my mom's street. All I have is family photos, I'll try for some non-people shots next trip.

Not a bad back yard hua?

(note: that's Mom in the center - at 72 still 3 sets of tennis a week. She'll outlive us all)

jsla - nice panorama looks like you got used to that camera pretty quickly. I particularly like the cheeky way you included the two people at the extreme edges. Not something I would have thought of but in this case I think it adds a defininate curiosity value & gets the eye scouring the image to see what else is there.

eastbluffs - if you were refering to my Grand Canyon shot the lense is the standard Panasonic one on the FZ20 no additions at all. The original image came out rather flat & hazy so I was a little dissapointed to be honest & regretted not having any filters. However, I had a rare moment with photoshop & just did an auto level adjustment to see what would happen & bingo. Probably a bit too much contrast & also when it is blown up full screen it gets a bit noisy but I liked it so much I have it as my desktop background now. So photoshop was the only trick I suppose, really I just got lucky. I can post the original if you want to see the transformation.

Oh & yes it was winter George if you count Easter this year as winter in the GC. It was just on the edge of spring I guess if the green desert with wild flowers was anything to go by. Just my luck, I travel to a desert from the UK & what do I see . Seriously fantastic holiday though .

It was a very wet winter in Arizona, and the desert and the flora went crazy. Glad you were here to see it.

Winter ends around mid May up there.

Very nice area up around Seaside. Been there several times and I have a very good freind, and photography mentor, who moved from Lake Oswego to the Seaside area about a year ago as most of the weddings he shoots are on the coast.

I always look forward to going back. Thanks for the shot.

From last Saturday - turned out better than I thought it would.

Something about it feels like a gateway to me, but it seems to lead into the water.
