Yes you're right George I hadn't thought of that before. We did have a little dusting of snow on the South rim when we were there at Easter but the North rim was closed. This is an earlier morning close up just before the snow storm came over us.

If I'm not mistaken the North Rim is almost 1000 feet higher than the South Rim (at about 6500 feet).
Thanks for the Canyon shots guys. Magnificent! It makes me want to run up there tonight. ... Uh, or maybe next month. I will be adding some new shots to the gallery in the next few days.
Thanks for the complement jsla I think it is more due to the location than me. Here are the details Camera Panasonic FZ20 (which was very new at the time), 12mm focal length (so it was only a x2 zoom shot when I look back), f8, 1/100s and iso 100 (not sure why I didn't use the lowest on the camera of 80 in this situation but as I said it was a new camera to me at the time). I was a little dissapointed with some of my GC shots as they came out rather hazy - I don't have any filters yet. However, I actually did an auto level adjust in PS on this image & it came out as posted. I don't usually do much tweaking in PS but this change was pretty dramatic & suited the stormy feel although there is perhaps a little too much darkness in a few places.
George just looked at your gallery you have some pretty special GC images there yourself already. That smugmug layout looks pretty nice as well is that free or do you subscribe?
