Nice photo, George. Might I suggest it would have been even better if the cactus had been to one side or the other rather than dead center? Or were you going for the total "cliche" photo?
Absolutely, totally, cliche' all the way. This picture is as "Welcome to Arizona" as it gets... hence the title.
...And yes, it is a dry heat...

Ha! See, I can change...
Here's a few pictures of "landscapes" i've got. I think they vaguely fit into this thread! Hope so anyway. The beach is at a place called Bamburgh in Northumberland on the east cost of the UK. The other two are in Durham, UK which is where i've just finished university - i'm going back home to somewhere that doesn't have nearly as good views!
I really appreciate any pictures I see of the Grand Canyon. Here is a picture I took with my Nikon N65 over Memorial day weekend. I took the film to Walmart to have them convert it to Jpeg for me. Not sure if its them or the film, but there is a little too much sharpness!

Since I get up there about 3 or 4 times a year here is a small collection. It's funny that most people never get further than Grand View. I actually like the East Canyon (by Desert View) more than the West Canyon as the tourists seem to thin out as you head east. One of my goals this year is to get over to the North Rim and Vermillion Cliffs. I don't see many pictures from the High Side.
Here is a sample of winter. There are more at smugmug.
