I could tell you but I wouldn't want you to get all pissy if it's the wrong brand

I use a tripod whenever possible. No GND filters yet...hopefully in the near future. I don't get to go out and shoot landscapes nearly as often as I'd like to.

With a tripod your scene will stay more consistent so you may try manual exposures in that situation. Just make sure you have a purpose for each adjustment.

I did a bit of fog shooting in Northern California this weekend. Here's one from a drive up to a redwood grove. Unfortunately the fog was hovering in this one area and not at the spot I was going to photograph.

I just finished an 8-day backpacking trip through my back yard. On one of those days I attempted to recreate a famous photograph in 1868 by Timothy O'Sullivan and related paintings by a guy named Gilbert Munger. The lake in question is Overland Lake in the Ruby Mountains, Nevada. I tried this a few times in the past but was always held back by weather or will power.

I didn't get the exact spot, it may be that vegetation makes it impossible to the the exact same view as 150 years ago. Or else I just didn't look hard enough.
