Thanks George no problem. I had a great day, got there really early trying to get a sunrise but the satnav got me lost in Sheffield so I just missed it.
Didn't really matter though as when I got there the valley was covered in a strip of mist. Not what I was after but very pretty nonetheless and I got some nice general landscapes.
It was a lovely relaxing day with nothing to do but wait around in the sunshine as the photographers gathered for the flypast at 1:00. The gentle sounds of the last post drifting
across the valley from the military band on the dam was very poignant and provided a suitable respectful atmosphere to remember those on both sides who lost their lives.
The sight and sounds of the Lancaster flying down the valley were definitely worth the wait accompanied by a spotter blue Spitfire and two Tornadoes from the Squadron today.

Sounds like one of those days that you would want to recapture. My last shoot at Moss Landing had that "feel" to it.

Thanks for the exceptional description as well.

Cheers, I'm not usually known for my literary prowess.
Here are a few landscapes of the valley before the mist cleared.

I have to agree with Danwiz.

By the way, I think that last version of the sunbeams was looking pretty good (except the frame and signature ).

I'm thinking classic English Countryside. Very nice Phil.

    Phil,

I am actually leaning towards the second one. I like the heavier mist. I think I would crop out about 30% more of the tree, and maybe clone out that lorry or bus on the far side of the bridge.

Raven15: Frames and signatures are bad ideas? I have noticed that many people here use a copyright signature, so are you saying that you don't ever like them, or do you not like the font or placement I used? Help me please.
