    K1W1,

I have to say I have the same issue with images when using my laptop and Firefox. The laptop is stuck with a typical screen of 1366 wide. I cannot find a setting to scale images to the window size in Firefox. Need to type a little more to get the post button back in view :-)

Back a few days ago for night sky shot ... wow sweetness!!! Every thing is pretty in-focus looking for "equivalent" of f/0.7 on my camera. I am going to try some Milky Way shots over the next few weeks, have some massive backpacking trips scheduled.

    K1W1:

Same as kgosden - my monitor is not 10 years old and that's an insult to me. I am using a laptop with 1600 x 900 resolution and this machine was purchased in October 2012, so it's about 9 months old now. I made sure that I bought a new Windows 7 machine just before they released Windows 8 because I did not want Windows 8!

If you want to get snotty about it then I'll just start ignoring your work altogether - you have certainly not created any good feelings between you and I!

My new monitor is much greater than 1600 pixels, but the old fashioned netbook I am using right now has only 900. I recently went from 800 pixels to 1000 pixels wide on the maximum side for photos I upload; however, I will probably post panoramas at 2000 pixels wide in the future.

Thank you raven 15. On my website the maximum I use for panoramas is either 1200 or 1250 pixels, depending on my feelings at the moment. Normal 4 x 3 photos on my website I generally post at 900 pixels max width and 700 pixels maximum height as it seems that most monitors nowadays are 16 x 9. I checked Google Analytics and determined what monitor size the majority of people are using who visit my website and made my decision based on that.

Nothing like cursing at people to make your case for being snotty.

Maybe the problem is selective cursing. i.e. praising the pano posted by Lucas (1500pw), and then condeming Rich (1597pw) for doing the same.

    Think about it.

I'm still at 1440 x 900 as well but like I said, and as you know, pano's are the exception. General rule-of-thumb: 1K wide for single frame and 2K wide for pano's.

I look forward to your 2K panos.

Nothing more to say - this is just ruining this thread is all. My original comment should have ended the discussion, but you want to drag it out and detract from the thread. No thanks. I end it here. Think about it! Do you really think that the general viewer wants to read our back and forth comments. Let's agree to end it, ok?
