There were only a few cars there since it was a weekday sunrise. The only person I saw on this little hill was a lady with a dog that didn't like photographers. My wife was with me so she dropped me off and parked at the top, but it's not too far of a walk from the parking area.

I like it because it's a very nice "local view" of central San Francisco.

Here's a shot from Twin Peaks in the city. Taken at sunrise on Friday.
Sweet, great colors in the sky.
Yeah, the colors and sharpening look off to me. I'll try again now that my color-controlled hard/software is up and going smoothly.

yeah... I wasn't around for either, and I only know Bonanza by name. I did meet a guy from Washoe Valley in his ~mid 30's who moved closer to this location to get away from the increasing population, so maybe not even that long ago.
From down in the thick of things ten months later (ie yesterday). Ideally I'd like to go again next weekend, but getting up at 3:00 am isn't all that fun (I got up at 4:30 this time and arrived 5 min after sunrise). I also need to try and find this exact spot again, and hope for calm weather....with great colorful clouds....

Raven,
Don't forget to hope for short grasses and high water. Or bring a weed eater:-)

That's a smasher raven, I like the grasses.
Around every picture there's a corner & round every corner there's a picture
- the fun's in finding them

I went out for a snow shoe treck on Friday - 850m climb and 6km each way - I wanted to give up after about half way up the mountain but was not allowed to
I was totaly exhausted by the time I reached the top and took a couple of photos but as I arrived so long after the rest of the group they were starting back down about 10min after I arrived.
It was a great place with ideal weather for photos but I think part of my problem in the first place ( apart from being VERY VERY unfit ) was the Dslr, two lenses and other assorted camera items in my backpack!

Raven, wonderful shot. Like I said Washoe 50 (ok 150) years ago. Since I have access to a cabin (built in 1930's) on the North Shore, Tahoe. I should get up there for a shoot again one of these days.
First I need to find a round, to-it.
Anthony, Very nice perspective shot.
The Cabin circa 2000, but still looks the same (Nikon CP990).

Yeah, snow shoeing is hard work especially if the snow is dry. I need to go again this season. Time to get you a micro 4/3 camera . Nice sky and snow in that shot.
