Dunes? Come on down Lukas. Fort Ord Dunes State Park is somewhat remote and not heavily traveled. Marina Beach used to be that way, but now...
Starting in Seaside and ending around Moss Landing, then starting up again around Freedom to Santa Cruz, is the natural tsunami barrier that is the Monterey Bay dunes running from 30 feet to over 80 feet in some areas.
The Dunes Range From Seaside Beach.

Yeah I need to get down to Monterey more. Now that I'm up by SF I find it falls in the too far for sunset, too close for overnight range. A lot to see there that I haven't explored.
That's a cool scene Geoff. I was there for a day once when I was younger. Part of a Caribbean cruise.

I'm headed down to Morro Bay next weekend. I went to college down there so it'll be nice to revisit all my favorite spots. Mostly eating spots since I wasn't too into photography back then.

Another great shot... definately looks like Oregon (?)
So you went to Cal Poly. "Eating spots"... Really?
I spent a fair amount of time in Morro Bay. Coldest water I ever dove in.

Thanks! It's Oregon, barely. 20 minutes or so across the border.
Yep, I went to Cal Poly. Eating spots! I like to eat, what can I say. I'll probably spend sunrises shooting Morro Rock and sunsets at Montana de Oro. I think it'll be clear skies and the tides probably won't be right for my Morro Rock shot. I'll give it a try anyway. Hopefully I come back with something.

Sound like fun. Morro Rock is very cool. Similar to Point Sur, only closer and accessable. I used it as a marker when flying down to LA/San Diego as you can see it from a fair distance. In the CG the power plant stacks (also similar to Moss Landing) were our returning night markers.
Looking forward to your images.
