Shot this as both color and B&W, I think I like the black and white better... the sun in the trees I'm hoping is a plus not a minus. Comments always welcome.
Nice shot I like it as B&W. Personally I think the sun is a minus in the B&W & would probably look better in the colour version. Or you could do some manipulation & just add the sun in colour to the B&W image with perhaps the cabin also selectively coloured. That might look cool. Then again it could look completely naff! Just my early morning thoughts.

Cabin in the snow shot looks great! I don't know if it would be better in colour or not - I would have to see to compare - but I reckon in this instance it might benefit a bit of extra contrast - maybe stronger blacks or something - I like it as it is though..
Edit - hope you don't mind - this is the sort of tweak I was suggesing...
I know other peoples interpretations are not always the same as your own - so please forgive if you don't like it

Old Man Winter. I admit, I welcomed the reason to snuggle close to the warming fire, it made the world seem small. And too....the first frost made the landscape sparkle like diamonds, breathtakingly beautiful. I always relish the arrival of the first snowflake, they dance so pretty and lay a clean blanket of quietness, soft and pure.....
But Old Man....you must leave, it is your time. Mother Nature is showing us the promise of spring....farewell.
