E550 Question
Hello everyone. I recently purchased an E550, and I am having problems with the picture quality. I am not sure if it is me or the camera. When I take pictures in the Auto setting during daylight, they come out very overexposed, and they have these weird "lines" running through them. Also this evening, around dusk, I tried taking a few in Auto, and I still have the werid "lines." I have tried taking pictures in the other modes, but they seem to be a little on the dark side. I have tried reading the manual, but it is all greek to me. Perhaps I need a camera with less options. Any help for this novice camera operator would be greatly appreciated!!

It's not your fault. I unfortunately have the same problem with my E550. It worked fine for around two months, and recently every picture has horizontal lines going through. From what I've read this seems to be a fairly common problem.

I went to BestBuy thursday and they gave me a new camera with no hassle. i told them what was happening, and they said that it has been a problem with these cameras.
I would upload a picture, but my files are too big, and I dont have anyway to resize them

Yes there is an issue with this camera
I purchased the E550 and within 6 weeks, I experienced the same overexposure and lines problem previously described. The camera was repaired and experienced the same problem almost immediately. I was then given a replacement camera only to have the same problem occur within another 6 weeks. This seems to be a common problem. I expect a recall at some point. I am getting a refund so that I can buy a different camera.

I have another question about this camera. A customer came in wondering why her memory card (128mb) would only hold 12 pictures. Well when i was going through her setting it said 12m. Now the camera is 6mp? so what is the 12?? It perplexed not only myself, but all my other employees and supervisor. Any answers to this?
