If you've never used a CP, make sure to note the "Circular" part. It rotates for a reason.
Yeah, that scares me. I've heard that you don't just attach it to your lense. You have to mark something on it at the right place. They aren't idiot proof, and I'm a idiot amateur photograher.
The "Circular" Polarizer is quite easy to master. You need this type with auto focus lens. Just rotate for desired affect but remember two f/stop decrease in image output.

Not used one on a digital yet - doesn't the camera adjust for the light loss - or do we need the loss for the effect - bit confused on that one ~ maybe that's why I never paticularly liked polorisers when I used them in the old SLR/Film days
