    well thanks for the comments and critique... these were really just random candids i took the other night... they were taken at night and it was pretty much dark behind her... i just thought why not go all the way black...
    i did tweak the contrast a bit... not much... i'll post the originals later when i get home.. . thanks again for the words...

    light was good... iso 800-1000 F4 1/125-1/160 did mess up and get a couple darkies at ISO 200 and some good ones at ISO640...

    Phat, at ISO 640, how was the noise? Did you let the camera deal with it or did you do it yourself in post processing? I ask this coz I've read that the D80 uses it's in-camera software to deal with noise and the resultant image loses some detail. Have you found this to be true? These shots are really very clean and sharp for indoors. That's why I asked about the light.

    between iso800-1000 for the majority.. i dont think i ran all images thru NN either... im pretty happy with D200 noise as long as you get good exposure
    ive printed a ISO 3200 8x10 of my cat looks purrfect im always wanting better... the ISO 6400 of 1D3 is crazy good..

    I shot the following photo indoors, handheld, and without a flash at IS0-1000 using a D200. I also don't have Noise Ninja or any of the other noise reduction programs though I did use CS2 for some post processing.
