good shot!
Why couldn't you get in? They charged me a small fee (I think 150 rupees), but other than that, they said I was welcome to photograph whatever I want. I got some other great shots.
Same deal with the Bangla Sahib Sikh temple in Delhi...they made me feel totally welcome as well. You missed a great opportunity...and you were there for a year!

The Mosques in Turkey also permit photography, but do not generally allow visitors during prayer.
Nice shots JTL. I will probably be in India (and Korea, China, Japan) this summer (biz trip) so hope to get in some good shots as well. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get back to Turkey with the D70 (last time I used the CP990).
D7000, D70, CP990, CP900, FE + a lens or 6.
Ha! See, I can change...

I'm also going to China in the Fall of 2007. I made up my own iternary based on things I wanted to see and shoot. Can't wait!
