The hair is a combination of both. Her hair was mostly backlit and glowing already. I just added a small amount of gaussian blur for a softer feel.

Yeah that would have helped. It was the end of the shoot, her and her cousin were just playing around.

    Thank you for commenting.

    David + Whitney

This is from the first wedding I worked on. Lynnette Joy Lofgren (a friend of mine) hired me to help her shoot the wedding. She didn't pay me much but it was all about the experience and it was great. It was very long and tiring but David & Whitney made it so much easier to keep going.

Some great views and images here, interesting scrolling through.
I don't usually do portraits - but y daughter wanted a photo taken
    I was actually playing around with my Sigma 70 - 300APO - I decided
not to attempt a lens change and risk missing the moment - so I left it on
    and snapped a few shots.
This one was cropped - but I think I have discovered the 70 - 300 is not a
bad portrait lens, might even use it again!!

    PS
she's nearly 14 here taken just the other day

I was on a sightseeing vacation and one of my stops was this "aero walk of fame".

No one told me about a parade at the same intersection. It explains all the detours I had to take...

There's the photo. I was about to let you know that there was no photo. For some reason to me it doesn't look real sharp, it almost looks pixelated. Also looks like you added a guassian blur around her, maybe feather it a bit more.

    MEEE:

There's my photos(shot with the Nikon 8700) and I at my first exhibit show which was held at our local library last month. There were nine other photographers showing. All of which were behind where this photo was taken. I had my own little corner and it couldn't have been better. The exhibit was up for two weeks and hundreds of people came to see it. I hate to sound conceded but I was a huge hit and all my photos really made a buzz amongst the people. The ones that made the most buzz were the water drops and the panoramas. Here some links (not all had site) to some of the other photographers that were in the show:

    Kay Damgaard (my favorite)

That's some great work there Brian. I remember a lot of those from here. The landscapes are awesome. I'm not a fan of the colored/titled mats. I think the black frame and simple white mat look best.
