I wouldn't say I'm new to photography, but my last SLR was a Zenith 11 in 1986. I'm a web designer by fate and thus have been using various P&S cameras over the last few years shooting all kinds of promo and web shots for local bands.
I recently bought a D50 with the AF-S 18-70 3.5-4.5G ED and have been fairly impressed. I'm still getting back into the whole understanding of manual photography again, and would like both good and bad critique on some photo's I shot last weekend.
All shots were using a SB-600 bounced off the ceiling at a pretty high angle and a wide range of shutter/aperature settings... basically it was my first night out with my new toy.
Anyways, enjoy the pics, please feel free to offer any advice or criticism.... I can handle it honest I think I did pretty good considering the lack of decent lighting on that small stage... I'm hoping the gig on the 23rd actually has some stage lighting as opposed to a couple of pots laying on the floor.
Yes Geof, been playing around some with Photoshop. The original picture is in one layer with a slight Gaussian Blur, and a copy of the original in a second layer on top with 35% opacity.
