    UK Isle of Wight sunset

A few sunset shots from the Isle of Wight. All SOOC and using the scene setting I was feeling a bit lazy.

Gee, there's been some inspiring photo's posted here over the last six months!
I particularly liked your shots, Lukas, Steve_W_1962, FlipMarc, Prospero, PhilD- particularly the 3rd zoomed shot from the Gold Coast & the Isle of Wight series, Gintaras & Gavin. Simply beautiful.

I'm a sucker for water shots in general and sunsets over water, so here is a recent series from Rushcutter's Bay, Sydney Harbour:

I like the first shot best, I really like the silhouetted detail in the scene. It would have also made a good stitched pano using a tele lens but I guess you were on a boat so it would have been a bit difficult to get as a series of shots.

I also like the first one, and agree that making it more of a silhouette would be a great effect. In addition, cropping with an extra-wide aspect ratio might give it that panoramic feel.

Shot this a couple of nights ago. I was a bit too late getting out to get the sun actually setting & couldn't get to anywhere that had a bit more foreground interest. So I've cropped this into a panorama to accentuate the sunset. Have to admit it was shot on sunset scene mode & no PP just getting lazy.

Thanks Prospero, it looked pretty ordinary until I cropped it to a pano that improved it a lot. I like your two shots too, especially the second with the nice palm tree framing.
