Thank you, Phill. I use 500 mm lens. I also watch my aperture and exposure. If the sun will be overexposed one cannot see sunspots. My 500 is not a very good mirror lens. It has fixed aperture of 8. In the beginning of the sunset I set shutter to 4000 and then as sunset progress I make the number smaller. I'm hunting for green flashes and they are hard to photograph. Please, remember that one could hurt his eyes while watching even setting sun. I just cannot stop watching and photographing the sun.
