The cloud of ash over the UK was supposed to give us a spectacular sunset last night but my shots were very dissapointing. If anyone else tried & got something I'd be keen to see how it should have looked. Anyway determined to improve I got up just early enough to grab the sunrise. Actual sunrise shots were OKish but managed to grab this shot a bit later on my way home.

There may be a cloud of ash over us but you really wouldn't know most of the time . The only time it becomes obvious is in the morning if its rained then cars are covered with a fine sprinkling of dust. I guess we are pretty lucky really unless you have a flight booked.

Thanks Geoff, it was actually a sunrise. I'd got up a bit too late and decided to just have a quick drive round on the off chance and spotted this view next to the new Willington marina. The early morning mist caught my eye.
