Cheers the lens i was using (EF 100-300mm) only works at f5.6 as well or it gives an err99 so i was quite lucky to be honest (although i wish it had been a little sharper)

This is shot # 246 of new S2. The Auto Focus may be just a tad better than my trusty Uzi...at least yesterday it took Uzi longer to lock at full zoom on at same subject than it did for the S2.
    Hi Bill,

I have seen house finches raiding our humming bird feeders as well. I have actually posted a series of shots of squirrels doing the same. I guess there are bunch of animals out there with a sweet tooth.

A friend of ours, who is an avid birder, has lectured me on putting red dye in our hummingbird feeder. She says it is not good for the birds. My wife now makes it without the dye and the hummingbirds keep coming.

Here's one link that talks about it and their formula for sugar water.

Looked at the EXIf data...don't believe I can get a shot like that until the earth gets a little closer to the sun and we get a little more light. 1/2500 and ISO of 800! No, I'll have to wait
