Some really great photos here. Thanks for sharing.

Here are a couple of shots taken with my Nikon Coolpix 4600. I just bought a Canon Powershot S2 IS yesterday and haven't had a chance to get any good bird photos, so these'll have to do.

This was taken last week and it is my very first decent photo of a bird in flight. It's not easy taking a flight photo with a little point and shoot.

This is a grackle. One my first photos with the Nikon.

Both photos were reduced in size for web viewing.

    Hope you like.

Both great shots. Aren't those Grackles something else? To be so pretty with piercing eyes but such a nuisance...eat all the food then skedaddle!

I have posted it elsewhere in this forum. But as a bird, it applies to this thread.

I was told it is a Zebra Finch, native to Australia.

    fledgling

Very nice. My 1st time to see a fledgling mourning dove. I sometimes use my c2100uz+tcon1.7 for birds. Very easy to use relative to the slr versions.

    Thanks,
    John.

    Bill,

I think the Tcon 1.7 is the NEW replacement for the B300. I've read that the B300 is a little better. Wish you success in finding another - been enjoying your birds. For some reason, our feeders now only attract sparrows, chickadees and cardinals.

    Bill,

That just makes me hurt reading about it! Sherman must be a great area for birds both prey and predator.

Found one on eBay. Matter of fact posting #246 in this thread was taken using the B-300. Had three of the #246 8x10's processed by Wally-World and they will knock your socks off! (They were outstanding - in case you took it the wrong way! )
