I think the crop looks fine, I don't mean that. I mean the graduated "picture frame" you have around the outside of the picture. It blends in nicely on the right, especially the lower right near your signature, but it contrasts so sharply with the rest of the image on the left side of the frame that it distracts my attention from the swan onto the "frame." I think the image would look better without that frame. I hope that makes more sense -- I'm not trying to be rude, just clear

    Cuool!!
I will try to do a non framed version when I get home tonight.
I confess I did the graduated frame in a hurry as I was being called away - it's never good if that happens and usually best to leave it and come back to it when there is time
    Thanks for the honest opinions

I like the idea of the graduated frame, but perhaps it would be better if it was a bit less dark, so that it would look a bit like vignetting.
The picture itself is great. Great exposure.

300mm f4 af-s + 1.7tc. this lens is hell sharp. it gives the 70-200 a serious run for its money. and this is with a 1.7tc aswell.

That's awesome, Rooz. I love the starry highlight in the bird's eye in #1. Is that lens the $1100 version?
