    My friend the crane

Right after I got my new camera a couple weeks ago I was driving by this marshy area and saw this big beautiful crane just sitting there. I did not have time to stop, plus I was in the wrong lane to stop. Ever since then I have been keeping an eye out for him. Today I got my chance. I stopped and shot a couple of really good shots of him.

    Tell me what you think.

All three were shot in Av mode, the 1st one at F/5.0 and the other two at F/4.0 with the TC-DC58B on.

They are rather a ugly looking bird. It is actually a Great Blue Heron. I have a couple of shots of some from around this area.
Nice shots though. I haven't been able to get a good shot of one flying yet.

Opinion on what type of bird please.

I took this shot last week. It was the only shot i could get. At first i thought it was a Hawk, but then after looking at the picture it looks like a Great horned owl. Tell me what you think

Turkey Vulture (I think, seems way too pretty to be called a vulture. Check out the tallions, OUCH!)
