A ground-feeding mourning dove looks around and wishes photographers would just stay home. Anybody else know them as whistle doves? They do make a whistling sound when they fly.

A downy woodpecker settles down into a hollow in the branch to eat his peanut. With his ability to drill holes in trees, he probably turned the peanut into peanut butter in seconds.

This wasn't zoomed - the camera was right up in his face. He doesn't pay much attention to me at all, unless I'm slow getting the peanuts out, in which case he gives a loud call (cheek!) or if he's really impatient, his Woody Woodypecker call (which sounds more like akakakakak).

    Regards,
    Bill
