This was one of seven baby ducks that were swimming in a large pond in a public park. They were all making a little "cheep cheep cheep" noise and scuttling over lilypads and swimming around really quickly. It was almost unbearably cute....
There are some fantastic birds on this thread, here is my humble contribution, they are of a Sandhill Crane, the first photo shows the nictitating membrane that lubricates and cleans the eye, hope you like.
